Popup Boxes<\/h2>\n<p>Popup boxes are those boxes that appear when you visit a website &#8212; usually after a set amount of time (i.e 30 seconds).<\/p>\n<p>Popup boxes are another great way to capture leads. \u00a0In fact,\u00a0adding popup boxes have been known to increase conversions by as much as 50%!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> Although popup boxes are great, they can also get really annoying if there&#8217;s a popup on every single page of your site and your visitor has to see repeatedly. \u00a0So make sure to use it sparingly and add certain conditions so that they don&#8217;t distract or annoy your reader.<\/p>\n<p>You can easily create popup boxes using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thrivethemes.com\/leads\">Thrive Leads<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/optinmonster.com\">OptinMonster<\/a>, or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/optimonk.com\">Optimonk<\/a>. \u00a0The lead generation\u00a0software\u00a0we&#8217;re using at SimpleStartup to create these optin boxes is Thrive Leads.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how Brendon Burchard uses a popup box at brendon.com. \u00a0It&#8217;s got a nice picture of him teaching the \u00a05&#215;50 productivity principle in his studio.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also compelling since it&#8217;s very specific, unique and relevant to his target audience: aspiring high performers.<\/p>\n<h2><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2708\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Screen-Shot-2016-04-05-at-4.43.06-PM.png\" alt=\"brendon popup box example\" width=\"472\" height=\"480\" \/><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fourhourworkweek.com\/\">Tim Ferris<\/a> uses this popup box targeted towards people who want to learn a foreign language. \u00a0Notice that in this variation, you can give the visitor the option to accept or decline.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Screen-Shot-2016-03-21-at-11.15.54-AM-1.png\" alt=\"tim ferris pop box\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>4. Content Upgrades<\/h2>\n<p>Adding a lead magnet within the body of your article is called a content upgrade.<\/p>\n<p>A content upgrade can be anything (template, resource, tools, etc.) as long as it&#8217;s\u00a0relevant to the post.<\/p>\n<p>Because these lead magnets are so relevant content upgrades can be a significant source of leads.<\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.hubspot.com\/marketing\/blog-anchor-text-call-to-action-study\">Hubspot study<\/a>, 47% to 93% of all their optins came from content upgrades (or what they refer to as Anchor text CTAs).<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s how how it looks within the body of an article:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/content-upgrade.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2779\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2779\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/content-upgrade.png\" alt=\"hubspot content upgrade\" width=\"402\" height=\"355\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s another example of a content upgrade (this time within a box to draw attention to it):<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Screen-Shot-2016-04-05-at-4.32.50-PM.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2695\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2695\" src=\"https:\/\/www.simplestartup.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Screen-Shot-2016-04-05-at-4.32.50-PM-1024x479.png\" alt=\"neil patel content upgrade\" width=\"531\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>5. Pinned Tweets<\/h2>\n<p>Not a lot of people use their twitter account\u00a0to promote their lead magnet. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t really take it seriously either until Mike Kawula from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.socialquant.net\">Social Quant<\/a>\u00a0emphasized it in our email discussion:<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Engaging helps, creating good content and <em>pin a tweet<\/em>.
